Measurement is circumference, not diameter
by: Anonymous

I think the confusion with the measurement here is most think the diameter was measured....which would make this thing over 5 feet wide. She states she measured the circumference, which makes it @ 21 inches wide....much easier to believe!! And still very impressive!

Refreshing!!

As you know, I have raised my grandkids to appreciate what we have in the outdoors. This young fellow Found this giant puffball while so many other kids are glued to one screen or another. Kudos to those who appreciate and have encouraged his interest in the outdoors!!!

World Record

Wow. She's right, folks. It made a new world record. I had trouble even conceiving of such a size but it's true:

Centimeters Indeed!
by: Amy

Ha! Gazboy is correct. I didn't even notice that! I am about 66 inches tall (5'6''), and as impressive as that puffball is I don't think it's as wide as I am tall.

:)

Centimetres!
by: Gazboy

I think you mean centimetres not 66.5 inches.

66.5 inches would be an impressive puffball mushroom though.

Wow!

Man! Now this mushroom could have really kicked some Shroom of Evil butt!!!!!!! LOL

Outstanding!

Now that is impressive. Way to go, Finley.

I uploaded this photo myself from the Huddersfield Examiner. The accompanying story, complete with Finley's adventures, is a great read. I'd recommend it here:

An amazing find! Thanks so much for sharing.

(And for anyone who is curious, 16kg is a little over 35 POUNDS!)

Thanks,
Amy
